“And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. ” – Gen 1:9-10
It is amazing to think that when a flood is rushing toward a city, the amount of panic and preparation that must take place in order to avoid catastrophe and the number of people and machines it takes to make it all happen. With all human effort to stop floods from ruining buildings, it still happens, no man can stop the water. God on the other hand simply spoke and told the water to gather in certain spots, and with the same authority He names the body of water.
When we think about miracles and water, we might firstly think of the parting of the Red Sea, but what a miracle we may pass by here in Genesis if we easily pass over these incredible words here. God directed not just a river or lake, He commanded the oceans where to go, and they stayed that way since.
