Often I over look that word used to describe what God has equipped us with. Spiritual Gifts

Gifts from God, yes they’re free, but they aren’t for only our own use or pleasure. These gifts God gave were for us to use to benefit the Body of Christ as a whole. There are a variety of gifts throughout the church, and its quite amazing how God makes them work together, even makes them dependent on each other.

We are dependent on others knowing, and properly using their Spiritual Gifts. We cant do it all, or be it all ourselves.

1 Cor 12:7 “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”

Paul says that he does “not want you to be uninformed” when it comes to the gifts. Remember Paul, writing under the inspiration of God here, is ensuring that the believers not only understand the different gifts, and which ones they have, but he makes sure that we understand they are used not just for ourselves, that they would in fact be useless if not used in conjunction with others.

” If all were a single member, where would the body be” or if we all wanted, or had just the same gift “where would we be?”

If you dont know your gifting from God, do the Body a favor, and get to know it. First pray about it, seeking God to help you understand the different gifts*, then I would say use a good test that helps hone in on your possible gifting. Once you have affirmed with God what your gifting is, develop it. The best way to do this is by simply using the gift, look for opportunities that can use what God naturally gave you to help benefit the Body of Christ.

Lastly, become aware of the struggles you may run into with your specific gifting. Ask others who share similar gifts, do some research. But the most important thing is, once you know your gifting you can think about stewardship in a whole new way.

God gave you this gift, what are you going to do with it??
